Where the value changes, and to what. A source holds its steps by value (an interval's two sides, an iterator's current step), so the carrier and the truth values are default-initialisable.

runs__Steps

A set of the chain valued in a species is a step function: a value before every step, then the steps along the chain, each a canonical position and the value from there on. A step source is that value and a std::ranges forward range of steps, composed lazily from the standard views: nothing is stored, and every query is one traversal. The sources compose (a meet is a merge of two sources), so the normal form of a term is itself a source. Runs is the one stored form, materialised on request.
